Kindergarten – Fifth Grades
(ages 5-10)

Have the students name the holidays and make a list on the board.  Explain that some
countries celebrate the same or similar holidays (Thanksgiving, Easter, Independence Day, etc.).

Choose one holiday and compare the way your country celebrates to the way another
country celebrates.  Have the students make a traditional symbol of the holiday for both countries and use them to decorate the room.

This project can include more than two countries, adding a new country each day.
Students can also learn the holiday greeting of the country being studied (Feliz Navidad). At the end of the week, celebrate the holiday with a food or drink from each country.
