* At the end of the lesson plan, ask each student what they have learned and if it will
change the way they react to people and situations in the future.
Projects
1. Write a story about making friends with someone from another country. Talk about
your similarities (things you have in common).
2. Write a story about traveling around the world and the things you experienced while in each country.
Use at least one country from each continent and give proper
names
for the people and things you come across (example: Petra and I ate gyros for dinner.).
Finish with a paragraph about what your learned from your travels and how it will change the way you view and react to the world.
* From the first day of the lesson plan, teach the students how to say “good morning/
afternoon,” “please,” “yes/no,” and “thank you” in another language. Request that they
use only those words when speaking to one another, you, and classroom visitors until the last day of the lesson plan. As an incentive, offer bonus points at the end of each day to students who consistently use, and properly pronounce, the words. |
